Salem Saturday Market Solo, duet or musical groups/bands are considered for a paid performance time for the Salem Saturday Market during May through September (April & October excluded due to weather). How to apply: If interested in being considered, email your interest in performing to: salemcommunitymarkets@gmail.com no later than January 31st. ![]() SSM Holiday Market is held at the second weekend in December each year at the Oregon State Fairgrounds inside the Columbia Hall AND Jackman-Long Buildings. There are 250 vendor and community booths with 3 stages for entertainment during the 3-day market. There are multiple entertainment time slots available during the market. The genre for this event must be 80% festive holiday music. Electricity is available for amplification.

![]() Performers at the Markets
Performers are eligible to participate at the Thursday West Salem Farmers Market AND/OR the Salem Saturday Market Performers are welcome to share their talent and may include, but are not limited to, specialties such as balloon artist, face painter, dancers, juggler, live theatre, etc. We ask that performers get approval and coordinate a proposed schedule with the Executive Director at the beginning of the season or prior to performing. Electronic amplification is NOT allowed, nor is playing or singing in a loud, disruptive manner such as to impede communication between vendors and customers.Performers are expected to display signage that clearly states donations are "suggested". Student & Other Buskers
![]() Students (and only students) are welcome to showcase their musical talent at Salem Saturday Market (and collect tips!). Students and their parent MUST stop by the Information Booth to sign in and pickup a name badge.
Adult music buskers and other performers are welcome to participate in 1 of 2 Free Speech Zones designated at the market. There is only room for 1 adult busker per area so we ask that they be respectful of fellow performers and take turns. Adult buskers are also welcome to participate outside of the market area. |
